Emma + Hunter

Snow-Covered Winter Wedding in the Mountains of Missoula, Montana

December 15, 2024

Emma and Hunter have always loved winter here in Montana. So they, unlike so many, decided to get married in the chilly month of December. These two were pretty lucky because it was a warmer winter’s day, contrary of what is expected here in Missoula this time of year.

I get questions all the time on whether or not couples should get married in the winter, and my answer is, “Why not?!”. Emma and Hunter’s wedding day was a prime example of what a great winter wedding here in Montana looks like.

They tied the knot at the gorgeous venue The Barn on Mullan. They shifted the indoor ceremony space into the reception space by moving around tables and chairs. They hosted around 75 of their closest community with dinner and dancing. Another smart tip that this couple did was that they had a first look. As you may know, the sun sets in Montana in December at 4:30pm. Hunter and Emma shared the sweetest first look after getting ready to knock out all the portraits before guests arrive and before it was too dark to take any.

All in all, it really was the perfect day! It was so great watching Emma and Hunter’s loved ones celebrate them as they started their new journey into marriage. Thank you for the honor of capturing your beautiful wedding day. Congratulations you two!
