A Joyful Fall Wedding Day on Film at Sky Ridge Ranch in Ronan, MT
Justin and Kelcie’s wedding day at Sky Ridge Ranch was the definition of warm and inviting Montana fall magic. Surrounded by the Mission Mountains and the changing aspen trees, their celebration felt joyful, relaxed, and full of love. Shot on film and digital, their day had those dreamy autumn tones that Sky Ridge Ranch does so well. With rich yellows, soft terracotta, and the perfect crisp mountain air.
Sky Ridge Ranch is one of the most scenic wedding venues in Western Montana, especially in the fall. Located just outside Ronan, it sits in front of the Mission Mountains with wide open pastures, tall pines, and endless film worthy light. As a Montana wedding photographer, it’s one of my favorite venues for natural portraits and outdoor ceremonies.
Justin and Kelcie are two of the warmest, most inviting people I’ve met. Their easy personalities set the tone for the entire day. Their golden retriever walked down the aisle before Kelcie, a detail that had everyone laughing and tearing up at the same time.
Kelcie wore a stunning strapless gown from Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City, which paired beautifully with the Montana setting. Her dress moved softly in the breeze and photographed beautifully on film during portraits.
The weather held out in the best way. The rain didn’t arrive until cocktail hour, which meant everyone enjoyed the mountain views throughout the ceremony. Guests moved inside to continue celebrating as the drizzle picked up, and then, in perfect Montana fashion, the rain paused just in time for us to sneak outside for a few sunset portraits. The Mission Mountains peeked through the clouds, the sky turned soft blue pastel.
From the heartfelt toasts to the cozy candlelit reception, Justin and Kelcie’s wedding day was filled with warmth, laughter, and genuine joy. It was the most beautiful way to celebrate the fall season in Montana.
